We Are Summit Robotics

…a high-school robotics team based in Central Oregon. We give students the opportunity to develop hands-on, real-world skills in engineering, programming, business, and more.

Our FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team, Team 5468 Chaos Theory, is part of the Pacific Northwest District and has competed with teams from around the world. In 2017 and 2018, we qualified for the FIRST World Championship in Houston, TX which was an amazing experience for the team.

During FRC build season our members put in hundreds of hours of hard work and dedication to build the best robot we can. During off-season, it is our mission to expand the influence of FIRST throughout our community in Central Oregon, giving people life changing opportunities in STEM fields and more.

Team 5468 Chaos Theory, is our bread and butter. We teach our students through our FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams and prepare them for each new and exciting year. As students, we develop life skills in far more areas than simply manufacturing and programming (such as business, management and marketing to name a few)—and as a team, we continue to improve our structure and move forward with ongoing plans to make a difference in our community.

In the fall, we participate in FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and use it as a way to introduce new members to robotics and skills such as programming, design, fabrication, business, and marketing. This is our method to prepare them for the FRC build season starting in January. For veteran members, this is their warm-up.

Along with our FTC teams, Summit Robotics is a common sub-host for the Central Oregon FIRST Tech Challenge League and Meets. We offer members to the League as volunteers, filling various roles and ensuring a great experience for our neighboring local teams as well as our own.

Further, our young veteran students often supply themselves as a ready resource for other local FTC teams who need assistance wherever necessary—may this be with a bug in their code, a broken mast, or a great competitive tip to hit it big.

Into the future, we hope to continue to build our community outreach through these constructive interactions with local teams, as well as local non-profit organizations such as High Desert Robotics Expositions (HDRex).
